Be a Mentor!

Posted in Hillsborough, Client Stories, Community Impact on January 14, 2017

You can make a difference in the life of a child.

Be a Mentor.

Through mentoring, you can be hope to a child and help make the most of her or his potential by offering encouragement and a connection. We are looking for working professionals ranging in age from late 20s to late 50s who are seeking meaningful interaction with homeless and at-risk children through Metropolitan Ministries.

Children in Tampa Bay who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless need positive academic, social and emotional support. Do you or someone you know want to get involved and become part of a child’s success story?

Metropolitan Ministries has two mentoring opportunities available to you:

1.       The New Metropolitan Ministries Mentoring Program, administered by Big Brothers Big Sisters

2.       Metropolitan Ministries Partnership School Reading Mentor Program

Our volunteers come from all walks of life.  And they all have one main thing in common: the desire to make a difference in the life of a child.  We provide children with keys to a healthy and successful life. And we focus on the spirit inside them by offering encouragement and connection to a mentor.
