We know that getting ready to go back to school is a struggle for a lot of families, especially families who are couch-surfing or living in their cars or in the woods.
From binders to backpacks to clothing and shoes, the average dollars spent for back to school is around $634. We know that this is a struggle for a lot of families, especially families living at Metropolitan Ministries.
“We had to do something,” Rev. Morris E. Hintzman remembers…
As Morris said, some less fortunate children were being teased. Unfortunately, it hasn’t changed over the years. Children, especially poor and homeless children, experience bullying about their clothes, backpacks and even their lack of school supplies.
With your help, children will not only be provided with what they need to be successful in school, they will also have a safe place to sleep, three hot nutritious meals a day, and an after-school program to help with homework—all in a loving and caring environment.
Help these children start the school year on the right foot. YOU can purchase shoes, school supplies and clothing online at our Backpacks of Hope store, make a financial donation or if you prefer you can drop-off your donations.
