Metropolitan Ministries is partnering with Gulfside Elementary, the first community school for Elementary students in Pasco.
A community school is a type of publicly funded school that serves as both an educational institution and a center of community life. Community schools are supported by multiple partnerships to provide a range of support and opportunities to children, youth, families, and communities—before, during, after school, and on weekends.
All of the Elementary children who live at our Pasco campus go to school at Gulfside. We are partnering with Clara Craig, the new Principal and also a Volunteer Leader at MM Pasco, to see how we can assist Gulfside with setting up a dignified clothing and food shopping experience for their families.
We also provided 20 Boxes of Hope and protein to Gulfside Elementary for Easter. “It has been a tough year for many of our families, and when several of them picked up the food boxes yesterday they were so thankful to receive the generous box of food and a ham,” says Clara.
