We offer unpaid internship opportunities throughout the year for undergraduate or graduate students in their course of study or interest area.
Prospective interns should be hardworking, enthusiastic, flexible individuals who have a passion for our mission and vision. Interns will undergo both leadership and department-specific training and development. College credit can be arranged.
Opportunities are available in the following areas:
- Social Media/Web Marketing
- Business Administration
- Early Education and Youth Programmatic Development
- Program Evaluation and Development
- Communications, Development and Marketing
- Information Technology
Internships typically run during the following months, however, we are always willing to work with your schedule:
- Spring: January through April
- Summer: May through August
- Fall: September through December

Communications, Development and Marketing Internships
Metropolitan Ministries offers internship opportunities for undergraduate or graduate students studying or interested in pursuing a career in the communications, public relations, fundraising or marketing fields. Interns will have the opportunity to work for one of the largest social-service non-profits in the community with a strong history of donor cultivation and community engagement. Development Representative Intern
The Development Representative cultivates, stewards and helps to build the pipeline of donors to Metropolitan Ministries. Primary duties include researching and developing a comprehensive employee campaign to cultivate, steward and solicit employees to give to Metropolitan Ministries and MiraclePlace for implementation. Supports Advancement Team with administrative support including but not limited to prospect research, correspondence, data entry and management, reporting, and other duties as assigned. Requires considerable, extensive public contact, strong organizational, telephone and communication skills, and a high degree of discretion with respect to confidential and sensitive issues. Donor Services Jr. Analyst Intern
The Donor Services Jr. Analyst will be responsible for data cleanup projects in Raiser’s Edge as assigned. Read more>
The Housing Intern will support the Housing Specialist by assisting with record-keeping and client follow-up. Assurance of proper records and case management will help the Housing Team to effectively serve clients, maintain landlord relationships and track success stories. Read more>
The Marketing Intern will represent, uphold and support the advancement of the mission, vision and guiding values of Metropolitan Ministries to donors, volunteers, board members and staff. The Marketing Intern will assist the Marketing Manager and the Director of Marketing with planning and implementing short-term and long-term marketing and fundraising initiatives for the organization. Public Relations Intern
Public Relations Intern (PRI) assists in the planning and implementation of Metropolitan Ministries’ marketing, communications and public relations activities. The PRI will assist in the creation and design of materials and strategies to better connect Metropolitan Ministries with its supporters and the greater Tampa community. Read more>

Volunteer Services Media Associate Intern
The FTE will record a Volunteer Orientation w/ slide show accompaniment for our web pages, a short video to promote Urban Immersion and a training video for our Holiday Volunteer Leaders.
