We believe that social entrepreneurship can help transform communities, and just maybe, the entire world. With that said, we are proud of our partnership with the Synapse Innovation Summit. Inside the Box, our very own social enterprise, will be catering all the lunches served on both days of the Summit.
This will help further awareness about our mission, which helps provide culinary education to individuals who are at-risk, in need, and those transitioning from homelessness. All proceeds from the lunches will go directly to feeding the hungry in Tampa Bay through Metropolitan Ministries. Wow!
Our very own President and CEO, Tim Marks, will be a special guest speaker. He will share the excitement and impact of Metropolitan Ministries’ social enterprise programming and business model, a shining example of how we are living out our vision to heal broken lives and build strong, caring communities.
Metropolitan Ministries has been chosen as the recipient of the Summit’s “Hackathon for Social Good”. Hackers from around Tampa Bay will rally to develop a digital solution to help bring our outreach and prevention center to virtual life. Imagine how many more people in crisis can be reached and helped in this way into the future!
Metropolitan Ministries will also be helping to empower the next generation of social entrepreneurs in Tampa Bay. Inspired by our social enterprises Dough Nation and Inside the Box, this business plan competition is designed to empower Tampa Bay’s students who seek to make a positive social impact through entrepreneurship. Social Enterprise experts from the Ministries and Columbia University will judge the competition.
Coding Hope, a robotics team comprised of the children in our STEAM program, will participate in the STEM/STEAM pavilion at the event.
