Cooking is a skill that can provide more than just a means for putting food on the table. It can also provide a sought-after job skill and a way of life in an industry that is always in need of reliable and skilled employees.
Many of the most successful chefs working today started out as line cooks in the culinary industry and gained experience they needed to obtain a better job. High-end restaurants expect entry-level preparers to have some culinary education as well as a food handler certification.
The Inside the Box Culinary Arts Program provides an opportunity for those enrolled in the program to learn vital skills that will prepare them for a career in the food industry. Each student accepted into the program receives a full scholarship. Classes are small, 8-10 students, for a more personalized learning experience.
The Culinary Arts program is offered each quarter of the year in Tampa and in Pasco. The class consists of students from three segments: Aged out foster youths, clients of Metropolitan Ministries and residential clients of Metropolitan Ministries.

At the completion of program, every student gets an opportunity to learn how to market themselves during the Culinary Employment Boot Camp. The participants receive assistance in writing a resume, searching for jobs, how to utilize LinkedIn, mock interviews and computer training.
