MEDIA ADVISORY: Metropolitan Ministries Symbol of Unity and Hope Opens with a Blessing

Holiday Tent Blessing

WHAT:  The Holiday Tent Blessing is a special event that commences Metropolitan Ministries’ Thanksgiving and Christmas season with prayer for our entire community. The Tent serves as a place for volunteers, donors, and those receiving services to come in contact with and bless each other.  Our main tent and satellite sites serve Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. Each has a prayer chapel where guests can submit prayer requests and receive love and encouragement. Please join us in being HOPE for our neighbors in need.  Together, we can create a powerful worship experience, pray for our community, and help bring peace and joy to the lives of suffering families.

WHO:  Rev. Morris E. Hintzman, President of Metropolitan Ministries Foundation, Rev. Alethea Winston of Metropolitan Ministries, Rev. Kathy Connor of First Presbyterian Church, Pastor Evan Burrows of First Baptist Church College Hill.  A Metropolitan Ministries’ resident will share her testimonial, and the children of the Patricia J. Sullivan Elementary School (the Ministries’ partnership school), Notes of Joy, will perform.  Hyde Park United Methodist Church Choir will also perform and worship in song.
