Metropolitan Ministries’ Holiday Tent Re-Opens for Christmas Distribution
Most needed items: hams, toys for infants and teens
WHEN: December 15, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
WHERE: NEW LOCATION! Metropolitan Ministries’ Holiday Tent, Downtown Tampa, just west of Nebraska and Cass intersection (905 North Governor St., Tampa, FL 33602).
DETAILS: Families and individuals in need that have previously qualified and signed up for food and toy assistance will begin collecting their items this Thursday. Metropolitan Ministries expects to serve 5,190 families between Thursday and Sunday—15% more than originally projected. This includes those being served at the Tampa holiday tent location, Pinellas and Pasco holiday tents, and other partner sites in the Bay area over the next four days. An additional 4,000+ families are expected December 20 through Christmas Eve.
All monetary gifts are being MATCHED up to $100,000 through December 31 by an anonymous donor.
MOST NEEDED ITEMS:
· Infant Learning Toys and Gifts (onesies, etc.) – always in short supply
· Teen Boy Gifts (ages 14-17) – always in short supply
· Canned Yams
· Starches (instant mashed potatoes, rice, pasta)
