Sold out event features Penny Vinik award presentation, testimonial from former client
WHEN: April 12, 12:00 p.m. – 1 p.m.
WHERE: Hilton Tampa Downtown, 211 North Tampa St., Main Ballroom
DETAILS: Metropolitan Ministries’ biggest fundraiser of the year will bring together members of the Tampa Bay community including city and county dignitaries, corporate partners, and donors for an event that focuses on the importance of education and therapy programs offered to children, teens, and their parents who reside at the Ministries’ MiraclePlace® and Miracles for Pasco campuses. These life-changing programs are the keys to homeless families achieving long term self-sufficiency.
Penny Vinik will be honored with the Metropolitan Ministries 2017 Bridge Builders Award. Penny, along with her husband Jeff, has made a tremendous impact on philanthropy in Tampa Bay through the Lightning Foundation’s Community Heroes program. The award is a one-of-a-kind art sculpture that was hand-made by the children and teens who reside at the Ministries.
The program also features a live testimony from former Metropolitan Ministries’ homeless client, Melanie Rojas Silva. Melanie is a graduate of Metropolitan Ministries’ Uplift U® Self-sufficiency program, a Hillsborough Community College valedictorian/graduate, and will graduate with honors next month from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts—an amazing story of a life transformed.
Bob Basham – Bridge Builders Marquee Sponsor and community leader, co-founder of Outback Steakhouse, MVP Holdings and Tampa-based PDQ, and board member for Metropolitan Ministries – will kick off the afternoon with acknowledgements about why he invests in Metropolitan Ministries.
Those in attendance will be encouraged to support Metropolitan Ministries through their donations and pledges. For more information, to donate, or make a pledge early, visit bridgebuilders2017.org.
