CANSTRUCTION

Challenge your group to build a sculpture out of can and boxescans of non-perishable foods. Download a list of our most needed items. PROJECT HINT: It take about 500 cans to build a large sculpture. Get your group to come up with a design and see how many items it will take to build it. Remember to take pictures. Your canstruction might be featured on our website or face book page.

ONE ITEM GRAND CHALLENGE

Split your group into teams and let the competion begin to see who can collect the most one item cans or boxes of non-perishable foods. What a great way to build teamwork and help your fellow neighbor in need.

ONE FAMILY - FEED A FAMILY

Are you having a holiday party or get-together soon? We have a fun project that will get the young and the old alike involved. Ask each family to help one family in need by purchasing food items that will help fill a BOX of HOPE. Print off our flyer and include it with the party invitation. Get the young kids involved with designing a note cards to go into the boxes. Our families in need could use a smile and a note of encouragement.

FILL THE PANTRY PARTY

We all love a good party, but we are sometimes lost as to what to bring. So help your guest by suggesting to them that they can bring cans or boxes of non-perishable foods to party in the most outrageouly decorated box. Have a contest for the most unusally, prettiest and wildly decorated food box. Let them know it is going to Metropolitan Ministries to help feed the homeless. Our flyer has suggestions as to what we need the most.

CEREAL SUNDAY

Cereal is something that we always need and is in short supply. Host a Cereal Sunday at your place of worship. Ask every member to bring a box of cereal on  Sunday. Let your members make the giving personal by providing them with a shipping or mailing sticker in which they can write some words of encouragement or prayer.

MESSAGE ON A CAN

Last year a group of children personalized mailing labels with artwork and their messages were adhere to the back of the can. Get your youth group involved in this fun way to give back.
