METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES ACADEMY
Metropolitan Ministries Academy, a Hillsborough County Charter School, opened in 1998 to meet the educational needs of homeless and at risk students in the Tampa Bay Area. Serving Kindergarten through 5th grade, we are fully staffed with an educated and compassionate group of teachers and support staff.
Here at the Academy, we value parent involvement and an education that focuses on academic success as well as social and emotional growth. We offer a variety of services and programs for all students. Our low student-teacher ratio allows students to receive any special attention they may need.
Programs
Extended Learning Program is a tutoring program provided to students who are having difficulty meeting academic benchmarks.
Assessment and Counseling is available in individual and small group sessions that focus on strengthening social skills.
Character Development is taught to all students in an effort to develop strong, responsible citizens.
Exceptional Student Education Services are available for students who have any speech, language, learning or behavioral difficulties.
Art and Music classes are available during school and after school.
Physical Education is offered twice a week at the Central City YMCA next door to our campus.
