Youth Service Hours Opportunities

Metropolitan Ministries is an excellent place for high school students to volunteer and accumulate community service hours needed for graduation and scholarship requirements.

All youth volunteers must be in middle school or older. Students under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Students between 16-18 years old need written parental permission.

Food Prep & Service
Help provide meals for hungry men, women and children as you assist in the preparation, serving and distribution of meals and in the general clean-up of the kitchen area.

Donation Center Assistance/Thrift store
Assist in the donation center by sorting and hanging clothing donations and separating household and miscellaneous items. Or help in the thrift store.  Help ensure there are food boxes ready for families in need by helping sort food and packing food boxes.

Children Activities*
Be a positive influence on the children living at the Ministries and help provide a variety of after-school, early-evening, and school break camp activities for school-age children and teens. Volunteers assist under the supervision of our children’s activities staff.

To sign-up to volunteer and earn community service hours during the holidays, please access our Holiday Volunteer Registration website.

*Additional requirements may be required including a background check and/or fingerprinting.
