Urgent Volunteer Needs
Community Outreach Assistance (Weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Meet with families seeking our help and provide direct assistance and referrals in a caring, supportive atmosphere. Presently, We have a need with flexible time commitment to help with providing Identification for individuals.
Thrift Store Security and General Help ( M-F, 8:30 am- 5 pm/ Sat, 9 am- 3 pm) Volunteers needed to onitor bathroom and dressing room in thrift store. We also need persons to help keep store clean nd straightened up. Customer Service help also needed.
Kitchen Aids (any shift between the hours of 6 am- 6 pm, every day of the week) 3 main needs include, 1) helping with donation receiving, 2) customer service and serving of meals, 3) Prep for Meals.
Operations and Maintenance (anytime between hours of 8 am- 3 pm, M-F) Among the many needs in this area, we need persons with 1) general handyman skills, 2) someone with mechanical skills, 3) hardworking persons that do not mind being given instructions and are able to lift heavy objects, 4) someone with electrical experience, 5) painting helpers.
Administrative Support (any time M-F) Critical behind-the-scenes work that includes assisting staff with mailings, phone calls, data entry, greeting campus guests, and/or data base maintenance. Presently we have great needs for office help in many areas of the ministry. Computer skills, such as Excel, Word and other applications are needed for most of these positions.
Adult Tutors (flexible) We have need for patient/ mature adults to tutor clients who have difficulty with reading and grammar skills. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with teaching experience and the schedule is flexible.
Other Volunteer Positions
Child Care* General child care of infants and toddlers: Hugging, rocking, nurturing and assisting staff in all phases of general child care for infants and toddlers.
Child Tutoring* Provide one-on-one attention and nurturing to school-age children; helping students strengthen their academic skills and build self-esteem. Volunteers assist under the supervision of our children’s activities staff.
Children & Teen Activities* Be a positive influence on the children living at the Ministries and help provide a variety of after-school, early-evening, and school break camp activities for school-age children and teens. Volunteers assist under the supervision of our children’s activities staff.
Donation Center /Thrift Store (Weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Assist in the donation center by sorting and hanging clothing donations and separating household and miscellaneous items and/or assist customers/clients in our thrift store. Help ensure there are food boxes ready for families in need by helping sort food and packing food boxes.
Food Prep & Service Help provide meals for hungry men, women and children as you assist in the preparation, serving and distribution of meals and in the general clean-up of the kitchen area.
Fundraising / Marketing Help get the word out to the community by assisting with fundraising, marketing and other community focused activities.
Maintenance Assistance Help provide a safe and secure residence for the approximately 140 people residing on our campus by assisting our maintenance staff with day-to-day maintenance including minor carpentry, minor plumbing, painting, and supplies pick-up.
Speakers Bureau Help share the “message” about the needs of poor and homeless families by speaking in the community as a representative of the Ministries. Flexible schedule and training provided.
Special Events Help with the planning of special events and provide event day support.
