Stewardship and Accountability
The Ministries is committed to being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us so that we can serve as many people in need as possible while honoring the intentions of those who support us.
The care we provide for poor and homeless families happens only through the collaborative efforts of the local community. We are not a United Way agency and only 6% of our funding comes from government grants.
We rely on the support of thousands of individuals, congregations, businesses, civic groups, and private and corporate foundations – to provide the needed resources ($6.2 million and $2.5 million in donated items and services).
The following standards are among the many standards we have in place to ensure accountability, good stewardship, and sound fiscal management:
- Volunteer board of directors
- Adherence to generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP)
- Independent audit performed annually by Rivero, Gordimer CPA firm
