PromiseLand & After-School Program
Our PromiseLand Childcare center is where the children of our residents on-site and in the local community go while their parents are working towards building a better life for their family. The center is fully staffed with ten teachers and administrators. There are twenty infants/toddlers and ten children between the ages of two and five years who attend the center every day. Your gifts of help equip this loving atmosphere and give our residents a sense of hope and security.
How we serve children today:
Metropolitan Ministries’ Head Start Program - a partnership with Hillsborough County Head Start, will promote early learning to build solid educational blocks for homeless and at-risk children. To qualify for Head Start, a parent must work at least 25 hours a week or attend school or job training full-time and meet U.S. poverty guidelines. More information about eligibility is available at http://www.hillsboroughcounty.org/headstart/admission.
Early Childhood Center- provides educational enrichment activities and early intervention services for 56 children from birth to age 5.
School Age Programs- provides before and after school care and summer programs (all of which incorporate learning activities, the arts, recreation, and academic tutoring) for 33 children ages five to 12.
