A night to remember

Tampa Bay Food Fight went down on Tuesday night, making it the third consecutive year of the fundraiser for Metropolitan Ministries’ Culinary Arts Program. Two teams, Tampa and St. Pete, went head to head in a boxing ring competing for the coveted crown. Team Tampa won the inaugural battle back in 2017, and St. Pete stole the trophy last year. Tuesday night was a close fight between top chefs from the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. But Team St. Pete took the title once again, making them the champions of the 2019 Battle of the Bay.

Massive support was received at the event from 50 restaurants from both sides of the Bay. We welcomed renowned culinary master Norman Van Aken, Mayor Castor and Mayor Kriseman, our long-standing supporter and friend, Titus O’Neil, our title partner Tampa Bay Rays, and hundreds of eventgoers.

All of this support helped to accomplish our goal, to fund 100 full scholarships and help create 100 jobs for our Culinary Arts Program students transitioning out of homelessness. This is proof that together, we are greater than the sum of our parts.
