After homelessness, a Tampa Bay mom wants to give her family a special Christmas

Holiday Hopes | The Olmeda family turned their life around after living in their car.

Julio and Joana Olmeda decided to move to Florida in 2018 with hopes of a new life. Their young daughter, Juliana, has bad asthma made worse by the cold in the north.

Things were going well until the end of 2019. Then Julio, 42, injured his knee. Without surgery, he wasn’t able to stay in the trucks he drove cross-country for work. He lost his job.
