Together, we’re building strong, caring communities

Metropolitan Ministries and Blue Sky Communities break ground on affordable housing

When SabalPlace opens its doors next fall, 112 families from across the region will move into a new, state-of-the-art residential community near Seffner, Fla.

This project includes one, two and three-bedroom units and is a partnership between Metropolitan Ministries, a local, community-funded nonprofit that provides long-term solutions for families at risk and experiencing homelessness; and Blue Sky Communities, a leading developer committed to building safe and affordable neighborhoods.

Phase I of the development is underway and Phase II, SabalPlace, will break ground this month. In addition to the clubhouse, splash park, and activity rooms, SabalPlace will offer a network of care on-site through Metropolitan Ministries programs, which already support 750 families.

“SabalPlace offers struggling families a new option in affordable housing and is an example of how we’re working to solve the housing crisis,” said Tim Marks, president and CEO of Metropolitan Ministries. “Along with our mission to provide services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity, and instill selfsufficiency, our vision is to help build strong, caring communities.”

The Phase II groundbreaking ceremony will be held this month with families expected to move in fall 2020.

The Preserve and SabalPlace are located at E. Broadway Ave. and Williams Rd. in Seffner, Fla.
