How Do We Use, Share, and Protect Your Data?

Personal information is used in an internal database for recording donations, providing donation receipts, for use in the sending of our periodic newsletters/appeals, and informing donors and other interested parties of events and needs at Metropolitan Ministries. Non-identifying information, such as types of web browser use and types of operating system use will be recorded from our website and social media platforms. Non-identifying information may also be used for research purposes, including monitoring internet traffic and device identification, as well as providing Ministries’ stories and service communication.

Donor Management – We use a third-party software company to manage and update your personally identifying information, communication and donation history, and mailing and communication preferences. Data is stored securely at an offsite data warehouse.  We rely on this trusted constituent management software to help us respond to your requests, manage the processing of your donation, and continue to improve your experience with Metropolitan Ministries.

Payment Processing – We use trusted third-party payment processors that comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI) for receiving and processing your financial transactions to Metropolitan Ministries.

Marketing and Fundraising – We use a trusted partner and may share your personally identifying information including name, address, phone number, email, and donation history for the purpose of creating marketing newsletters and other mailings from Metropolitan Ministries. It is our policy not to sell or rent your personally identifiable information to any third parties nor send donor mailings or e-mails on behalf of other organizations. SMS OPT-IN Consent and Data will not be shared with third parties.

Cooperative Databases – We participate in non-profit co-op database programs for the purposes of inviting new donors to help support the work of Metropolitan Ministries and to better understand and cater content to our current supporters. The non-profit co-op database programs share information about the donation habits of supporters of various non-profit organizations. If your personally identifiable information does not already appear in the co-op database, we will not share or add information. However, if your personally identifying information does already appear in the co-op database, basic information about your giving habits with Metropolitan Ministries, including frequency and donation amount, will be shared. Other companies or non-profits with whom you have a relationship may have contributed to the co-op database resulting in your personally identifiable information being added; however, this information was not added by Metropolitan Ministries.

Metropolitan Ministries uses premium security measures, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, to keep your personal information as secure as reasonably possible and to protect against loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.
