Social Enterprise is defined as a self-sustaining entity: a business with the core purpose of creating social or environmental impact.

At Metropolitan Ministries, our social enterprises must include these 4 pillars of success (or we won’t do them):

  1. Align with our mission of alleviating suffering, promoting dignity, and instilling self-sufficiency
  2. Educate and train our clients or partners
  3. Involve citizens in understanding and caring for their disadvantaged neighbors
  4. Be self-sustaining and generate revenue to support our programs
