Stamp Out Hunger benefiting Metropolitan Ministries

We are excited that Metropolitan Ministries is once again partnering with the NALC for their 32nd Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. This year marks the seventh time that Metropolitan Ministries has partnered with NALC locally to receive the donations collected.

For over 30 years the National Association of Letter Carries has held a national food drive in May. About 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states participate in this annual event. Letter carriers collect the donations of non-perishable food that people leave by their mail boxes.

Since our partnership, we have received 402,966 pounds of food valued at over $975,117. Nationally, the NALC has collected over one billion pounds of food and counting.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

On Saturday, May 11, you can leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned meat, peanut butter, boxed cereal, rice, beans, canned vegetables, and canned fruit next to your mailbox before the regular mail delivery on Saturday. A letter carrier will pick up your food donation, and it will be delivered to Metro Ministries. All food donations stay in each community, going to help feed local residents.
