Hope, given monthly

After uprooting her family to care for a sick relative, Lauren’s world was turned upside down when she became homeless. With no money saved up and few options, she moved in with a family friend who ended up harming her daughter. With little hope, Lauren felt alone. That’s when she learned about a helping hand that would change the course of her life forever.

For nearly 50 years, Metropolitan Ministries, with the support of donors like you, has helped families like Lauren’s rebuild their lives.

When you give monthly through Hope Force, you directly impact the lives of families we serve every day.

What began as a mission to feed the hungry, turned into a comprehensive program for homeless and at-risk families. Metropolitan’s goal is to restore our families to self-sufficiency, so they never have to repeat the cycle of homelessness.

Joining the Metro Hope Force is a pledge to leave no one behind. Your monthly gift will touch lives all year and helps Metropolitan Ministries expand services, giving more families what they need to survive and thrive when all hope was lost.

Give monthly to support a network of care.

Food
More than 75,000 meals are served monthly at partner locations across Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk counties.

Housing
Transitional and affordable housing programs in Hillsborough and Pasco counties allow families to heal from the trauma of homelessness with a compassionate team providing wraparound services.

Support for children and youth
Metropolitan Ministries pioneered the idea of starting a school inside an emergency shelter. Today, the Patricia J. Sullivan Partnership School is thriving and operated by Hillsborough County Public Schools. Dedicated educators help students achieve academic success and emotional growth.

Education
Educational programs are designed to help children and families excel at their goals from early childhood to career advancement. With the help of our community partners, families have full access to early education, school-age and community-based programs, and adult education.

Life skills
Education and job-skills training are long-term solutions. Families with this support can focus on earning a GED or skills training that helps them achieve their goals.

Family Support Center
This is an oasis for families in crisis. Every family meets with a case manager to help them navigate essential services and programs. There’s even a market with fresh food and everyday essentials. The Family Support Center keeps families in their homes through financial assistance paid directly to landlords and utility providers.

Metro BrigAIDe Mobile Outreach Team
This team visits homeless camps and public parks to meet people where they are to provide life-saving resources for our neighbors in crisis.

Social enterprises
All proceeds from our social enterprises support our mission. When you support Dough Nation, Inside the Box, and the Metropolitan Ministries Thrift Store, you’re supporting the families we serve.

When you make a monthly donation, you help us provide so much more than just food and shelter. Your gift gives struggling families hope in a better tomorrow.

“I couldn’t do it without Metro. They helped us to break the cycle and have a brighter future,” said Lauren.
