Here at home, poverty may not look exactly the same as it does in a war-torn region or a developing country, but food insecurity is affecting children right here in our community.
We need your help to offer Zika virus kits that include bug spray, mosquito nets and Permethrin Spray that provides up to six weeks of protection on clothing.
Hope starts with a meal. We provide 2,500 meals a day.
Safe shelter creates security. We have a home for 100 families and single women.
Intervention breaks the cycle of homelessness. We care for 250 children each day.
Empowerment leads to self-sufficiency. 92% of our graduates succeed.
Prevention beats homelessness. We give practical help to 200 families each day.
Education and job-skills training are long-term solutions for families. We offer GED classes so that our adult residents and anyone in the local community can finish high school.
Over 100 families come to our Outreach Center every day. Families in need receive help with clothing, hygiene products, and navigating crisis.
The Volunteer Engagement Center is where 21,000 volunteers check in to give 136,000 hours of their time to help us do our work each year.
100 families — including 300 children — eat in the dining room every day. An additional 2,500 meals are cooked and sent out to partner meal sites around the region.
Six months. That’s how long a typical family spends on the street. Can you imagine? Temporary housing and the right support can get a family back on their feet again.
PromiseLand Early Childhood Education Center is where children of our residents on site and in the local community are cared for during the day while their parents are working towards building a better life for their family.
Exercise and sports programs are available to enhance the residential experience for homeless children directly impacted by trauma.
The Chapel of Hope provides a sacred space of refuge, comfort and spiritual development for our families, children, staff and volunteers. The Chapel serves as a beacon of light and hope in the center of the Metropolitan Ministries’ campus.
Our Supported Housing Program is to help homeless families and single women reach housing stabilization by providing Emergency Shelter and Core Supportive Services.
The Metropolitan Ministries Thrift Store proudly serves the Tampa Bay community in many ways. We provide much needed clothing, furniture, appliances and many other items to homeless and low-income families.
The warehouse is the focal point of all donations being received and processed. Donations of goods and services save Metropolitan Ministries over 6 million dollars a year!
The Youth Enrichment Center provides a space to serve more than 300 elementary children, middle and high school teens, and supports our critical after-school programs.
